Will Cano get the money he is after?

As many may know, Robinson Cano will be a free agent. Cano is looking for a 10-year, $305 million contract! As a Yankees fan, I am aware that he is one of the top players in the league, but even I am questioning that contract for him. Many long term contracts end up not working out because the players don't end up performing to their expectations after so many years. At the end of his desired contract, he will be in his 40's! Cano is a great player and I hope he finds a great contract; however, I don't know if that contract he is seeking is ideal.

  1. Its obvious Yankees want him but for that much money he want I dont know. Cano will be 31 years old next year. Their are some high-payroll teams who could use an upgrade at second base: Cano is their best hitter and player, but the Yankees probably don't want to commit to another hugely long and expensive contract to a player over 30 years old. Look at what they are going through with A-Rod.

  2. There's almost no way I can see any team agreeing to sign him for what he wants. As good as he is right now a big contract like that at this stage in his career is highly unlikely.

  3. I personally agree with you. It's crazy that Cano wants that kind of money but I feel that if the Yankees want to keep him, they will give in and pay the 350 million he wants.

  4. He will probably end up going to the Red Sox or Dogers if the yankees dont give him what he wants.

  5. Long contracts are never a good decision, look at the Arod deal, that's coming back to bite them. Nobody needs that kind of money anyway, but the Yankees have it, so there's a good chance they'll use whether it be on him or someone else.
